Chocolate Explorers Afterschool - Semester Enrollment

Chocolate Explorers Afterschool is an 8-session enrichment program that runs every Tuesday and Thursday at Blue Valley Chocolate's factory in Playa Brasilito. It's designed for kids in the Brasilito-Flamingo area (especially CRIA families - we're 5 minutes away), and it covers the full story of chocolate from farm to bar across a progressive curriculum where every session builds on the last.

This isn't a cooking class. By Session 8, your child will have tempered real chocolate, trained their palate to identify flavor notes, explored cacao ceremonies from three cultures, and pitched their own original chocolate bar to the group. They'll take something home after every single session.

The 8-session arc:

Session 1 - Where does chocolate actually come from? (crack a real cacao pod)

Session 2 - Journey of a cacao bean (fermentation, drying, roasting - Sequence It card game + truffles) 

Session 3 - The science of chocolate (tempering, crystallization, Snap Test + chocolate bark)

Session 4 - Training your taste buds (blind tastings, flavor vocabulary, dipped popcorn) 

Session 5 - Chocolate around the world (global traditions + mendiants)

Session 6 - Chocolate as ceremony (cacao ritual context + personal blend) 

Session 7 - Chocolate as art (visual composition + edible art piece)

Session 8 - Graduation Day (design, make, and pitch your own original bar + certificate)

Sessions run Tuesday and Thursday, 3:15-4:45 PM. Drop-off at 3:10, pick-up at 4:45.

Full block paid upfront. Minimum of 6 enrolled kids for the block to run.

Not ready to commit? Book a single trial session at our drop-in rate ($60). Enroll in the full block within 7 days and $45 is credited toward your $360.

• Tuesday + Thursday, 3:15-4:45 PM

• Drop-off 3:10 PM / Pick-up 4:45 PM

• 6-12 kids per block

• Location: The Village #127, Playa Brasilito (5 min from CRIA)

Cancellation: Full refund before Session 1. No refund after Session 2 - materials and prep are committed at that point. We offer one make-up session per block when space allows.
